You think the trope only applies to characters who were always surrounded by stronger people and go to a setting of weaker ones, rather than characters who always were surrounded by lesser people but are aware stronger ones are out there?

Are kryptonian (Man of Steel), three warriors and Loki (Movies) actually examples?
-The Kryptonians who attacked the earth: They were considered the best warriors of Krypton.
-While Loki, Sif and the Warriors Three are the strongest Asgardians.(Except for Thor and Odin.

I feel like this trope gets misused a lot in examples. I tend to see it referenced as if it meant the same as "Big fish in a small pond." And in a literal sense, it kind of does. The name might be confusing to people. Maybe this trope should be renamed?
