"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanProposal for an alternate quote, "A reputation for a thousand years may depend upon the conduct of a single moment." -Ernest Bramah, author of the Kai Lung and Max Carrados books.
I've never made an edit of this kind to a page before, and I'm not entirely sure if there's any protocol to follow in that regard. But I do think that the quote is appropriate to the topic.
Is this really supposed to be YMMV? The trope listed for the in-universe version, But You Screw One Goat, ...really doesn't seem to be the same as this at all. Where do in-universe Never Live It Down examples go?
Hide / Show RepliesYes, this trope definitely needs an in-universe version. Besides, the current incarnation overlaps with Flanderization pretty heavily.
Was there a reason the page image was changed? I don't even understand the relevance of the new one. The old one did make sense pretty easily.
Hide / Show Replies...and now it was deleted completely. Maybe we should start image picking discussion. Personally, I think Hank Pym example was alright.
I think we need a YMMV Banner on this page, since this depends on your view on a character, and your view is probably different from another person's view.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. Hide / Show RepliesThe problem is, YMMV on whether YMMV. A case of Never Live It Down like Tori's bicycle crash on Mythbusters, which they still bring up in new episodes of the show to this very day, is pretty hard to argue as subjective.
Edited by mustangoPulled the bit about John Jameson "even turned into Man-Wolf and rampaged around in his first Spidey appearance". His first appearance was Amazing Spider-Man #1. His first substantial appearance (I think) was the aforementioned Colonel Jupiter story in Amazing #41. He first turns into Man-Wolf in Amazing #124.
I am removing the example from Total Drama Island involving Owen, because that part of his character was more or less consistent during the entire time Justin was on the show.
Per TRS, this is now No Real Life Examples, Please!:
