Does anybody else think maybe we should loosen the restrictions a little so that, even if the character's parents are established as dead, missing, etc. so long as they live with their aunt and/or uncle it counts? Because in the description for this trope it says that it only counts as an example if the character's parents are completely absent, with no explanation given for their absence. So what about characters whose parents' absence is explained, but still live with their aunt and/or uncle? For example, in the earlier Batman comics it's explained that Bruce grew up with his aunt and uncle after his parents were tragically murdered (before being Retconned in later comics to Bruce being raised by his butler.)

The other alternative is that characters whose parents' absence is explained but they are raised by other relatives should fall under the trope Raised By Grandparents. But on the Raised By Grandparents page it states that "Generally there are no aunts or uncles in the picture. If there are, that's Trope/Nephewism." So there really is no category for characters raised by their aunts and/or uncles whose parents' absences are explained.
