I put "A Puzzling Tale" (from The Brothers Grimm) in 'Fairy Tales', but maybe it belongs in 'Literature' or 'Folklore'.

Would the Saw II "test" with the antidote syringe hidden among used syringes count as a literal example?

Also, from a later movie, there was a "test" with multiple keys.

Questionable examples go here.

  • In the Shivering Isles expansion for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, one of the cruel tricks you can play on a group of adventurers is to lock them in a room with the key readily evident in the center. And then dump a pile of identical keys on top.
    • That's not true. For one, there is no initial key, they all drop from the ceiling. For another, they're all fakes.

Thanks for the all fish!
