So does Misotheism only refer to someone who believes in god(s) but hates them, or could it also refer to someone who does not believe in any gods and also hates religion?

It only refers to hatred of a god or gods one actually believes in. As the page discusses, anti-theism is what you'd call the view of someone that disbelieve in a god or gods, but dislikes the idea of it existing too.
Should this be made a No Real Life Examples page? For one thing, it's inherently a topic where most people will almost inevitably get defensive of their own views. But also, the Real Life section, as it stands, lists very few examples of actual people with this position and is mostly a list of very broad sweeping universalistic generalisations about what "atheists" and "theists" supposedly tend to do. (Also, despite the explanation right in the first paragraph that Nay Theists are not atheists, one of the few real people cited as an example of the trope was an atheist rather than a Nay Theist, and so really shouldn't be listed there.)
