Really, who started the mess up in Japanese names. It's confusing to them, being divided into either order when writing their names.

Often, in school, military, official documents, and possibly other situations, the English order of names is written with the family name first (followed by any suffixes such as Jr, Sr, III, etc), then a comma, given and middle names. Not sure if something like this should be mentioned, since it could add to the confusion.
