Deconstructed in the song Mein Opa, das bin ich from the German band Truck Stop:
It has a - somewhat contrived - convoluted relationship between various people and as such is Played for Laughs.
Here the protagonist marries a widow, and the daughter of said widow in turn marries the protagonist's father. Now, with children being born rather ... interesting ... relationships come into play, all of which are establishing interesting loops.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhy is this called "Grampa"? That's not actually a word. "Grandpa" is the word, and it's the word used in the title of the song that this trope is (supposedly) named after.
Would this trope apply in the context of Reincarnation? Because a character could theoretically be their own biological ancestor if they reincarnated as one of their own descendants, unless you consider the two incarnations to be completely separate characters and NOT the same person.
