I just wanted to let everybody know where i got the name of this trope from. Essentially there was this heated debate going on about all of those viewer participation voter shows on all of the music networks. Some was saying they were rigged (specifically 106&Park). Then a very cynical poster came in the thread and said what are y'all talking about. They pay to get there records played. that's nothing new. They do the same thing on radio. and that show TRL, Music Is Politics. And since then it just stuck with me.
