Mobile Factory has had its own page for a long time.

Why is it still on here?

Deleted.. as it's cool but is it an example?

  • Heavy Lift ships, while also not technically factories, can lift other vessels clear of the water to allow their full hull to be worked on.

I was wondering if Robur the Conqueror and Master of the World, both by Jules Verne, should appear here somewhere. After all, the vehicles could drive on the road, fly through the air, and sail both on and under the sea.

Also, I don't see any mention of Supercar, the television show by Gerry Anderson.

Regarding amphibious tanks, I noticed 2 very real examples were missing, the M4 Valentine and Sherman tanks were modified for beach-landings, most notably on D-Day, even though they tended to capsize and could not fire while afloat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphibious_vehicle#Tanks

On the other hand, the EFV is a Speedboat/Tank/APC currently in prototype stages (for the last 20 years), and have been severely under pressure of cancellation because of it's extremely expensive ticket and limited usefulness (not such a good tank or boat), especially considering that most landings are currently airborne... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expeditionary_Fighting_Vehicle
