- In the Star Wars Expanded Universe Legacy Of The Force series, the Mandalorians come up with one. It gets equipped to do pretty much anything, including be controlled manually should it lose power.

- Heavy Lift ships, while also not technically factories, can lift other vessels clear of the water to allow their full hull to be worked on.
I was wondering if Robur the Conqueror and Master of the World, both by Jules Verne, should appear here somewhere. After all, the vehicles could drive on the road, fly through the air, and sail both on and under the sea.
Also, I don't see any mention of Supercar, the television show by Gerry Anderson.

Regarding amphibious tanks, I noticed 2 very real examples were missing, the M4 Valentine and Sherman tanks were modified for beach-landings, most notably on D-Day, even though they tended to capsize and could not fire while afloat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphibious_vehicle#Tanks
