A lot of these examples are just mixed metaphors, not really this trope...

I made this Idolized Julius Kingsley icon back when Akito first came out, and now that the crossover is actually happening, I don't care.

I'm confused as to how the page image is an example of this trope. I feel like we can do better.

These are not metaphors they're similes.

Some of them are metaphors, some are similes; but either way, the name is more so a clever portmanteau than an indication that all examples are metaphors. It really just refers to analogies and figures of speech in general.
