i read the title really fast and thought it said "memento peter griffin"

I may not remember the series terribly well, but is the page image actually an example? As far as I remember, the character's pocket watch is plot-relevant insofar as it's... part of the plot, but I don't recall it ever being any kind of MacGuffin or being particularly plot relevant past its sentimental meaning (and as being the State Alchemist equivalent of a police officer's badge).
Maybe I'm reading too much into the MacGuffin part of the name so I'm genuinely confused as to how much the item has to tie into the plot. It seems more like a Tragic Keepsake in that regard.
