In "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid", Fafnir is not the only one to bring up the issue of Tohru outliving Kobayashi. Tohru's father alludes to it as well.
And it's even worse for Kanna and Saikawa. Presuming Saikawa's romantic interest isn't merely a "Class-S relationship", they may immediately have problems as Saikawa becomes a teenager then young adult, while Kanna is likely to maintain the look of an elementary-school student for some number of years. The "human" appearance of the dragons is supposed to be a reflection of their dragon persona, so Kanna probably wouldn't be able to adjust her apparent age accordingly.
Quoted from main article - Anime/manga section:
"One interesting Fan Fic attempt to resolve this issue postulated that Keiichi's (initial) wish put him into a special cycle of reincarnation, and that in every one of his lives he gets to be with Belldandy and the other players; the story even included a scene where demon antagonist Mara/Marller learns of Keiichi's latest incarnation and muses that it will be good to see the rest of the old gang once again."
Can I get a link for this fanfic?

So I've been wondering, what does it count as if you've got an elf and a human lovers taking part in the same war, the elf on a much more dangerous jobs than her lover, and since War Is Hell the higher likelihood of the elf going KIA/MIA may very well either outweigh or weight just as much as her natural lifespan in the balance about which of the two lovers will outlive the other? It's probably a form of Playing with a Trope, but of what kind?
