Just wanted to comment in the Serta example that, since the mattress was already purchased, that the sheep would not be prosecuted under that code. The tag could, however, be used as evidence in either a Trespass or an Assault case if the mattress owner wanted to press charges. Which might make that example a Subversion. (They were prosecuted, just not for removing the tag specifically.)

I wonder if, should some prankster tear off a tag at a mattress store whether said prankster could be prosecuted under that law, or whether that would fall under a shoplifting code.
