Mary Sue is missing from the list of Mary Sue Types, why?
Is that an accidental omission that should be fixed?
Or is it deliberately not on it for some reason, like it being so broad?
Hide / Show RepliesI guess it's missing because the description says this is for "related" tropes of Mary Sue.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYes.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhat the heck is an Equality Sue? It's in the index, but it doesn't have a page, so I don't know what it is. If someone told me what it was, I could make a page for it.
Not my circus, not my monkeys. Hide / Show RepliesA page that was cut and which can be removed from here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe Mary Sue index says "No examples in any of these pages, please" for the list of Mary Sue types, but Copy Cat Sue, Fixer Sue, Parody Sue and Spokes Sue all have examples. Should that be changed? (Admittedly, I wouldn't mind keeping the Parody examples...)
Hide / Show RepliesWhy are no examples allowed? I come to these Trope pages to search for examples. Frankly the way some of these tropes in badly described I need the most basic examples to figure them out at all.
Is there a reason Einstein Sue and Lemon Stu are in both Mary Sue Types and Subtypes? Maybe the lists should be merged?
Hide / Show RepliesHeck, I'm going to be proactive and merge the lists. (The Ace looks like a good candidate for moving to Concepts anyway.)
Mary Sue problems come from writing down your intentions as the finished product. Stories require polishing. If you have a Mary Sue start with a power sander.
There used to be a list of Mary Sue traits here, last time I checked, which was a couple of months ago. I am wondering what happened to it. Was there a problem with the fact people said these were not definate indicators? It was a rather interesting list...
Anime colored hair, excetera...
Our Elves Are Better seems to be the Our Monsters Are Different page for elves, not a "Mary Sue Species" page. Anyone else think it should be removed from this list and Superior Species (the closest to a "Sue Species" trope we currently have) linked here in its place?
Edited by FarseerLolotea Hide / Show RepliesGo for it, I sez.
Can't Argue With Elves, on the other hand, might warrant adding.
What's precedent ever done for us?But we should add here Humans are Special and Humanity is Superior.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
