This article should have an image of Qui-gon meditating while waiting to fight his enemy, while the enemy paces back and fourth...
Speaking of real life examples, I've heard of a funny story about a friend of a friend (yeah, one of those) who was brought before court for breaking in because he fell through a sunroof while drunk during a party. Basically the judge's reaction to that was, quoting from memory, "Did it ever occur to you that the defendant is attempting a break in into a house full of people, while dressed as Henry VIII, makes no sense whatsoever?" and acquitted him on the spot. So yeah, point is that 1) the police can charge you as long as they think that they should and 2) that doesn't mean that they are always right.

I'm having some trouble at understanding the differences between Technical Pacifist and Martial Pacifist. I know that both try to avoid unnecessary conflict, but what is the exact difference between the two?
