A note I deleted from an example on Soviet Superscience: "Russian [first person] shooters are cursed - there have been only a handful of good ones."

I just now undid Gundamforce's edit of 25th May '11 10:09:34 PM that changed the example section headings "Terrible Art and Products are Made In Country X" and "True Art and Products are Made In Country X" to "Country X Art Ghetto" and "True Art is Made In Country X." Gundamforce suggested an example cleanup, but never cleaned up the examples or rewrote the description.

How did this become YMMV? It's not predominantly a viewer's subjective reaction, as it's deliberately used by creators. Even the real life examples are a result of marketing and propaganda — media employing the trope.
