"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman"In the 19th century, the Commanche Indians discovered during their conflicts with U.S. settlers that they could make their shields bulletproof by stuffing large amounts of paper between the two layers of buffalo hide." How well would this method work against modern bullets?
The trope page just seems to tell us what shields are and ways they're used. I have absolutely no idea what the trope itself is supposed to be here.
Edited by Venatius Hide / Show RepliesIt does seem a bit People Sit On Chairs. Maybe it is supposed to be about the use of shields in settings where shields wouldn't show up normally, like a setting where guns exist, or, maybe, the use of shields with special powers?
