Could I add the Manila Hostage Crisis and the Munich terrorist attack to this page? Both of these have the same tragic use of this trope — the news agencies were showing and describing what the authorities were doing and this made the situation much worse (the Manila hostage taker shot hostages when he saw his brother was arrested and the Munich terrorists were waiting for the police ambush)
