Is there a trope for the opposite, where a work starts in the present and becomes basically a period piece by the time it ends

Unless someone can also explain how "present day Marvel is the seventies with modern technology" also explains Barack Obama becoming President in his teens, not to mention the use of actual 21st century dates, I think we should stick to the standard interpretation of Comic-Book Time that it's the past stories that we're meant to assume took place later than the publishing date, not present stories that are actually set in the past.
