I don’t know if the advertisements for Sega Dreamcast count as this; what with all the characters are various Dreamcast game characters living inside the console and can do things like learn new moves without the player knowing or even give you phone calls.
I was pondering if the residents of Underoworld from SAO count as they are essentially programs in a computer.
