Pain to the Ass is the Super-Trope of this (and of Shot in the Ass). I took is as:
- Bullets and arrows = Shot in the Ass
- Kicking with feet or knees (and probably also slapping with whatever) = Literal Ass-Kicking
- Any other ass-related injury/pain = Pain to the Ass (one example listed on that trope page is someone's butt being literally branded—that's neither SitA nor LAK, but it is PttA.)
It's a bit confusing because some examples listed on PttA are actually SitA (like the Shrek example, which involves an arrow).

EDIT: just read this trope's description in more detail and it's very confusing, how this trope description can easily be mistaken for Pain to the Ass.
The Laconic of Literal Ass-Kicking even is "A pain in the ass", which is almost exactly the name of the other trope...
No wonder people are confused. Might be worth taking to Trope Repair Shop.

Should we add another arse related trope? "See also Spank the Cutie, for when the posterior damage is played as arousing rather than funny."
How is this different from Pain to the Ass?
