- The Order of the Stick: Miko Miyazaki. Although she starts out as a somewhat over-zealous Lawful Good, over the course of the series, she devolves into an insanely zealous Lawful Stupid Knight Templar whose devotion to order is unmatched. It's arguable as to when the shift to Lawful Neutral occurs, but it definitely happens by the time she murders an unarmed old man because she suspected him of conspiring against the Sapphire Guard.
Oh, I didn't even notice the lawyers, but I don't think that's important. Now as for Miko, as a Paladin, she can't be anything else than Lawful Good without becoming fallen. The events mentioned here also has her becoming as fallen paladin, but it's not clear that makes her Lawful Neutral even then. The more obvious reason is the "committing an evil act" clause.
I'm confused about the difference between the two Internal Subtropes. I was wanting to try to give them descriptive names instead of generic numbered Types (the latter being out of vogue) but in trying to do so, realized that I don't really understand the distinction.
Can someone sort of laconicize them for me? Is it that Type 1 doesn't care what the rules are, so long as there ARE rules, and Type 2 cares very much that THESE specific rules are the ones that are followed? Am I on the right track at all?
Do you think that Alexandra "Alex" Cabot from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit qualifies as a Lawful Neutral?
Deleted Hotaru because he seems more suited to Lawful Evil seeing as he seems generally willing to commit evil for the sake of order.
Edited by KSonikThere is a lot of love for Inspector Javert, and virtualy no mentions of Judge Dredd. Maybe it is time for a picture change.
Edited by MareonWait how is Mistuo Lawful Neutral? That person is a Well-Intentioned Extremist.
Edited by KSonikJanos sounds by the description more like Evil. Seriously? Kidnapping children is about as far away from Lawful Neutral as you can get.
How about the G-Man from the HL-series? He obeys certain rules, does not actually "do" that much himself and you never know if he is good or evil.
Edited by ham_solo Hide / Show RepliesWild Mass Guessing mostly. It's hard putting any alignment at all on him due to his mysterious nature. We still don't know who he's working under or what his motives are, and while he does obey certain rules, he also does go against his orders and rules, too, whatever they may be. Indeed, his mysterious nature is by itself a reason that we should avoid listing him under any alignment, especially since if he is listed as Lawful Neutral for example, and then Valve simply josses that teory by making it clear he is some completely different alignment. Since we hardly know anything about him already besides the fact that he has some kind of superior, it is pretty hard to apply any kind of alignment on him, and I doubt it ever will be, since that is one of the most interesting parts of the characters to the majority. In layman's terms, he would only be Lawful Neutral because that is how the fandom depicts him.
I think the following ones are wrong (and I removed them), though you are free to argue.
He's happy to be part of an evil system and practically relishes in abusing the poor — Lawful Evil.
She's got all kinds of other moral scruples as well and often tries to be good to people — Lawful Good.
Examples Are Not Arguable. And actually, this amounts to a wordy Zero-Context Example; it doesn't say why she's anything. Anyway, if she was ever Neutral instead of Good, that was only the very beginning if you ask me. Like, first episode.
I'm guessing you'll likely find at least some of these characters double-listed under those alignments I suggested already, though I'm not checking it right now. I know Twilight Sparkle was there.
