Should I add messers to this trope page? Since they're basically sword-sized knives made due to laws forbidding commoners from owning swords in Germany...

Messers is just the German name for "knives", so I would say no. This trope is not about knives, period.

Should there be a reference to Aichmomania, an obsession with sharp objects in the same way a pyromaniac has an obsession with fire? As a legitimate aichmomaniac, I can say that this trope seems very relevant.

Why was the real life section taken out of this trope?

As the "Duel Dilemmas" episode of Myth Busters prove, Bowie bringing that knife into a gunfight may not be that ridiculous. Of course, the first scenario Jamie and Adam tested-throwing the knife-would be a bit implausible, but when the knife wielder gets in close enough...

Am I allowed to add this info into the main article?

If a character's initials spell out J.A.B., does that mean it's a Meaningful Name?
