To be honest, I'm not a fan of the name of this trope. There are plenty of kangaroos, especially in furry webcomics, that don't have a hint of Australian personality about them.
There should be two tropes, (a) Our Kangaroos Are Different which can be for any kangaroo character and (b) this trope for instances where their Australian heritage is evident.

"Any kangaroo character" is not a trope. And right now there are several Zero Context Examples that do not indicate in any way how those kangaroo characters are related to Australia...
