The Spiderman / Carnage e.g. in the writeup is not an 'exempli gratia' but rather a sort of counterexample. Seems to me better examples from Spiderman might include Doctor Octopus or The Lizard.

Grammatical note to future posters: it's "follows a different continuity than X," not "follows a different continuity to X."

Chopped from the Megaman list:

    natter
  • Oh man, 7. Why Mega Man even bothered having any final words with Wily, when he's proven many times over to be completely beyond reason, is inexplicable. Why he felt the need to take about three hours to charge up a 500 jiggaton ultra-super global annihilation kablammo shot instead of, oh, SPRAYING HIM is bizarre. Why he bought, even for a moment, that steaming First Law of Robotics crap, which does not even EXIST in his universe (and even within the Asimov stories failed to prevent robots from killing humans!)...well, while hesitating to use the word "defective", you really have to wonder...
  • The Three Laws of Robotics exist in the Mega Man universe. In the Japanese version, Wily actually sends Mega Man in a logic loop by bringing it up (the new ending is American Kirby Is Hardcore at work). Dr. Light mentioned them in the message at the start of Mega Man X and, indeed, the fact that he wasn't bound by the laws was what made X so revolutionary. But yeah, the other problems with that ending are accurate.

Don't ask me, I just fix wicks.

Is there any particular reason the Batman: the Brave and the Bold example isn't a page quote? I think it's perfect, but I just want to be sure there isn't a reason it's not there...

Removed "Doomsday" from the list of Doctor Who episodes in which the Daleks are "wiped out." While the species is largely eradicated, the Cult of Skaro is seen to escape using emergency temporal shift. The Daleks are not "wiped out" again until "Journey's End."
