I just did a heavy sweep: quite a few non-game examples utterly confused this with Follow the Leader variations, but It's the Same, Now It Sucks! is the opposite of They Changed It, Now It Sucks!, i.e. it's only valid if we're talking about the same base material...

The video game section is extremely lacking in Rule of Cautious Editing. Basically, a huge portion of the examples talk about a game that's mostly a rehash & then mention that people disliked a few of the hand full of changes that installment made & then call people hypocrites even if the changes were something that's almost universally hated like out-of-place gimmicky control quirks.
Do these people not get that, even if a game is overly similar, the few changes it does make can be bad changes. For example, the Left 4 Dead 2 example says people didn't like that its gameplay is almost identical to 1 but then calls them hypocrites for not liking the new characters & day time setting. Those changes have nothing to do with gameplay so there's nothing hypocritical about it.
Especially bad since everyone knows most people don't like suddenly having their favorite characters replaced for no apparent reason & most people prefer a night time setting for a game with horror elements.
Frequent glaring logical flaws like that make me think this article is swarming with people who just wanna complain because some people don't like a game they like.
