I think that something should probably be added about the damage that they can cause when they latch onto Internet Counterattacks and heated issues in general and use them as excuses to make death or rape threats and generally say horrible, horrible things.

Can someone link the image back to Something Awful, since there is a lock on the page?

Is SA the source of the image? If so, go ahead and ask here for the link.

No. Memes aren't allowed as page images (see here for more detail) and the current is more amusing.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

I think that this point is making the wrong counter-argument:

When the ITG is also a Troll attacking the forum moderators/owners for suppression of the right to free speech (obviously this never works, as the First Amendment only protects against governments, as they'd know if they'd actually read it because "Congress shall make no law" is right at the beginning.)
.

I think that because a troll is, by definition, someone who is posting just to enrage (not to actually express some opinion) while freedom of speech is "political right to communicate one's opinions and ideas". So it is not really a matter of freedom of speech, since trolls are not there to talk about their ideas.

A better counter-argument would be something in the lines that freedom of speech is not freedom of insulting. Also attempting to prove something just by citing laws may looks harsh, which is not good when one is trying to make a point.

Those were my two cents ;)

Aw, why must the page be locked?

I wanted to add the beginning of some infamous copypasta as a quote...

Am I the only one who immediately thought "Sid!" upon seeing the page image? It looks just like him! Must be the shirt.

Goddammit, Fast Eddie. Why are you removing the examples from and locking any Main/ index article that bears even the slightest bit of negativity? Why?!

Is that what's happening? I guess that's why my response that linked to Everyoneis American was dropped....despite it not making trope itself negative....When was this rule announced?

It should be noted when this page is unlocked that the line that says "these threats are always empty," should be changed to "almost always empty", considering the fact that people have tracked down people who bug them online and have actually murdered them. it would be wrong to leave it as it is.
