Would picking a fight as a way of processing unrelated painful feelings count, or is that a different trope? IOW, if Character A is upset because someone ran over his dog, he may beat the crap out of character B, who had nothing to do with the dog being run over, just to make himself feel better. I don't know if that's really catharsis . . .
