Maybe it's just me but...
- There's an old joke about a man being accused of breaking his neighbor's teapot, who responds: "I never broke it, it was broken before I got it, and there is no teapot."
This sounds like it belongs on Hurricane of Excuses.
- Earth Bound has the Onett librarian offering you a map.
Librarian: All of the information is there, except for the information that isn't there!
This sounds like it belongs on Captain Obvious.
While I don't think it should be taken off the page, Rainbow Dash's example is pretty debatable. Her quote is basically "This isn't a Jovial Activity. Now, these Competitive Sports will determine" yadda yadda yadda. It SOUNDS a LOT more contradictory than it actually is
Hide / Show RepliesThe point of the trope isn't necessarily the actual contradiction so much as the appearance of one.
And on at least the literal level, her statement is somewhat contradictory; her claim was that this wasn't a game; interpreted literally, this means not a game of any sort; so saying "these games," especially that quickly after the previous statement, is therefore an example after all.
EDITED IN: It wouldn't hurt to discuss whether or not other examples might make better page quotations, though.

This doesn't seem to be a Self demonstrating article, but it does seem to show its own meaning on itself through example....Wait
