It's questionable whether Lord Shen's final decision in Kung Fu Panda 2 actually was ignoring the epiphany or accepting it, as there's more than one interpretation of what the intended Aesop actually was. While it's not that family-friendly to play You Can't Fight Fate straight, and there's some definite Values Dissonance for a Western audience, the writers appear to have been going for this: Shen's entire life has defined him as the coward who, when informed his destiny was a duel to the death he's convinced he has no chance of winning, was willing to abandon everything which in that setting could be considered "honorable" to avoid that point, and his final choice was to let go of his past, commit entirely to the fated fight and die rather than remain a coward and accept arrest or friendship or anything else to delay his destiny.

Removed because Ian doesn't reject this revelation; he simply thinks I've Come Too Far and considers his goal (the genocide of the Elves) worth the cost.
