The character is billed and treated as a main character of the work despite being introduced in a later installment of said work. If this treatment is intended by the creators of said work, it probably doesn't count as YMMV since those are audience reactions.

Does a character in a franchise intended to headline their own series making an Early-Bird Cameo count?
(ex. Barry Allen first appeared in a Season 2 episode of his franchise's parent show before headlining his own series)
How is this not a YMMV?
