Per TRS, the definition is being expanded to cover things other than inedible substances:

I noticed the Mystery Meat trope mentions this page— and yet this page is supposedly for stuff thst is generally considered inedible. Not a cultural taboo (which might be Foreign Queasine) but stuff that's toxic.

Maybe this page needs a revamp?

That page is taking I Ate WHAT?! literally. That needs to be corrected.

Should there be a spin-off page for tampering with food out of revenge? It looks to qualify as a subtrope all its own.

Might want to ask in YKTTW.

A few posts were deleted by a troper who said that they belonged under I'mAHumanitarian. But are they mutually exclusive? The page for I'mAHumanitarian is about cannibalism in general, not feeding someone a person in order to get revenge. The way that the revenge was done in Titus Andronicus was designed to produce an "I ate what?" reaction in Tamora, the Goth queen, which was just as significant as the fact that he fed her human flesh.
