I generally just feel like the more I hear how great something is, the more prone I'd be to not liking it because there's no way it can hold up to the hype. Personal examples include newer Disney movies. Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and Aladdin were what I'd be comparing to. I basically refused to watch newer Disney movies but once I watched Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and Frozen, I had to admit they were pretty awesome and reminded me of why I liked the aforementioned 90s movies.
Still won't bring myself to see Big Hero 6 yet, though. I'll get to it in a year or so :D
Using the history, I rescued the examples and put them on a word document.
Re Example Sectionectomy: Decided here
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanShould probably add some RP Gs and fighters in the video game section
Does anybody think that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is an example? Or is it just me? >_>
I don't understand, is the Suzumiya Haruhi example saying that its main selling point is being instantly recognisable as an anime or being original?

My main reason for Hype Aversion is that I know the movies are going to suck, because (In my thought Process) let's compare a director like Micheal Bay or Post Original Trilogy George Lucas to a school bully, sure you don't like them but you had maid several unsuccessful attempts to take them down, but was the most effective way to defeat them, ignore them.
