The definition of Brown Note is "sensory input is harmful", which the sight of God's face being lethal certainly qualifies for. From description and Laconic, Awesomeness Is Volatile is more like "too much awesome makes things explode".

Should the latter half of the page quote really link to Brown Note? The whole "no man can see my face and live" thing is closer to Awesomeness Is Volatile by a lot of traditions.
