"This can end up one of three ways.
The helpers persevere, and by saving the hero a second time get him to admit they are competent enough to hang with him and fight alongside each other from then on. The helpers become embittered and choose to turn to a life of crime. The latter can be justifiable if it's one of the cases of Never Be a Hero that has the helper be empowered by bad means, which in turn make them go bad because The Dark Side Will Make You Forget. The helpers can persevere while the hero complains about them eternally, because any Aesop he learns about them is obliterated by each episode's Reset Button and the status quo remains God."
This part just seems... weird? There are several ways this troper can imagine a situation like this ending outside of one of these very specific three. For example, the helpers could begin to view the hero as a bad guy and begin working against him. Or the helpers really could just stop. Result #2 in and of itself is just bizarre given its equally specific "this can be justifiable if" clause. Is this weird to anyone else, or am I missing something?
Where exactly did the page image come from? I never heard of a Jackie Chan Adventures video game.
How is the hero harassing the helpers when he rejects their help? I thought in that case, the helpers will harass the hero.
