I think you're right, VVK. The two comics examples seem to be using a different meaning of "herald" (=servant/spokesperson/messenger for a royal figure) than the one this trope is about.
The two comic books examples: I don't know the stories in question, but the way the examples are described here, it doesn't actually say those characters are calling any heroes into action the way the trope describes. Someone who knows about it could see if the examples really apply.
