I removed this example from the main page. The editor who added it wasn't too sure about the facts, and used This Troper. Feel free to put it back in correct style if the example itself is accurate.

  • I believe that was a reference to the Doom movie, where a religious character (Goat, I think his name is) smashes his head against a wall because he knows he's turning into one of the monsters running around. Especially considering that the character smashes his head against the wall in almost the exact same fashion as the character from the movie.

Any clue under which category this review of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen goes under? (For those curious, his whole entire review consists of him banging his head against various objects.) He also does something similar for Dark of the Moon too. I'm guessing Web Original or Real Life, however, they appear to have a radio show that this may be part of.

What's the earliest example of it occurring in media anyways? There's one example from the December 1904 strip from Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend by Winsor Mc Cay but this is almost certainly not the earliest example of it happening in a work of fiction.
