Invoced, discussed and ultimately subverted in Highschool Never Ends. Highschool sucks, being and adult sucked in the exact same way. What subvets the trope is, Is it really growing up if you dont mature past a Highschool mentality?

The adult is the worst ever, I hate mature ever. no more mature ever in real-life tropes. is broing and terrible.

There was an old Toys R Us jingle that ended something like:
"I don't want to grow up/Because if I did I couldn't be a Toys R Us kid".
Would that fall under this trope?
