Neither this nor Purple Is Powerful relate to royalty, really. For example, a masculine, non-combatant character with a royal image whose color is purple. It doesn't represent brute strength, since he isn't a fighter, but it doesn't represent "femininity" either. It just represents royalty.
I'm surprised there isn't a trope associating purple with royalty, and it really pops up a lot. Huh. Better take that to the ykttw archive...
