Not sure about the name. In my experience, the term "good ol boy" is used to mean a local from a small rural community, in contrast to city slickers who pass through and come into some trouble. It more represents the perceived insular and clannish nature of small communities. The trope as it's described just seems to be a Conservative American, and the examples are just a bunch of Southern characters.
What I see in guys that fit this trope are imperialists and white supremacists.
