This being TV, the opposite end of the job-security continuum belongs, I respectfully submit, not to some unknown, but to Hawkeye Pierce, who'll never get fired because he was drafted into an Army unit even Cpl. Klinger can't get out of.

Is there a similar trope to this that applies to boyfriends/girlfriends instead of jobs? Like, your girlfriend breaks up with you practically every day, but you always seem to get back together with her?
