Since Raffles is older then Lupin, he is to my knowledge the Trope Maker, making him arguably an Unbuilt Trope, but any appearance of being a Subversion is purely coincidence.

I tend to view Fantomas as an Evil Counterpart of Arsene Lupin. So would that make his archetype an Evil Counterpart to this one?
