Ragnarok Online also allows Priests and Monks to use Books *both* as shields and melee weapons, but no, players can't wield frying pans. A Bible large enough to be used as a shield is downright hilarious to watch. They can't throw the book though...

Among the most bizarre weapons, you can find Whips, Violins, Guitars, and a Wrench that count as a mace.
