"Forgotten Childhood Friend" and "Forgotten Friend, New Foe" should be different tropes. For example, Silas from FE Fates is a Forgotten Childhood friend, but not a new foe.

Suzaku and Lelouch from Code Geass aren't a very good example. Both remembered the other when they met years later, Suzaku just wasn't aware that Lelouch was also Zero.
