Does anyone else think this trope might need a new title? Last I checked, the word fetish is for something unconventional that people get their rocks off to. But this listing is meant for examples of instances in media that were meant to be sexy, yet fail miserably for one reason or the other. I'm thinking maybe it should be renamed to Erotica Retardant.
I'd like to ask that no one re-append "unsexy even to lolicons" or anything of the sort to my edit for the entry on "Chibiusa's Seventh Birthday". It's unnecessary, legitimizes pedophilia by implying that it's just another kink, and distracts from the fic's child sexual abuse (which is what I had originally edited the entry to focus on).
Hide / Show RepliesSaying it "puts off even its intended audience of creeps" is equally unnecessary, so I removed it. The sentence should end with "even if it didn't revolve around graphic child sexual abuse".
Keet cleanupIf no one objects, I will cut the mention of children's genitals from the opener. That it's condemning pedophilia doesn't stop it from being gross.
Deleted the following Natter (some of which violated Example Indentation) from the Webcomics Furry Fandom example.
- Hey, look at it this way. Unless it was a male 'roo, it obviously wasn't a case of You Fail Biology Forever.
- This is why there are varying degrees of anthropomorphism. In some cases, inappropriately-placed and Non-Mammal Mammaries just seem more wholesome, somehow.

So where is the picture from? The title is nothing but "disservice", it only links to Off-Model, and the caption says nothing about where it's from, and, as far as I know, there is no example with "pictured above" in the Anime & Manga section (which is what media I think it's from).
Hide / Show RepliesIt's not from any series in particular. It's by an ecchi artist by the name of Sakaki.
Guess we need a picture that TRULY depicts Fan Disservice, rather than one that's more of an obvious case of YMMV.
Eh, maybe TV Tropes has desensitized me, but this picture really isn't retarding me that much. Bumping and attaching the image fixin' discussion.
See you in the discussion pages. That picture was a fantastic case of retardant. I say bringing it back is good. A trope like this needs a picture.
This trope needs a picture, but as the last image picking discussion died some time ago, maybe we're ready for a new one? I'd say any picture found at Escher Girls blog http://eschergirls.tumblr.com/archive would fit perfectly, as woman in painfully spine-breaking pose should be an instant turn-off, no matter how skimpy her clothes are. Take this, for instance: http://eschergirls.tumblr.com/post/12442141633/this-is-probably-one-of-the-worst-positions-ive
Conversely, Polish autumn is either absolutely ugly (if it's wet), or one of the most gorgeous sights on this Lord's good red-golden earthNot many people are smart enough to know how anatomy works, especially when thinking with their other head. Then there's contortionists... I nominate this commercial.
Edited by justanidWhat about something from those two artcles? http://www.smosh.com/PC/smosh-pit/photos/24-sexy-fails http://www.smosh.com/smosh-pit/photos/22-funny-sexy-fails
Conversely, Polish autumn is either absolutely ugly (if it's wet), or one of the most gorgeous sights on this Lord's good red-golden earthSo, let me get this straight. Does a sex scene with terrible spelling count?
Hide / Show RepliesIt should. A poorly written sex scene (if through spelling or not being properly structured) does nothing to arouse people.
Took this out:
- legolas by laura: "and then one of the orcs striped her and then he raped her and then laura said 'go away you bastard'".
Because that's not meant to be erotic in the first place (or so we hope). It's just pure Narm.
The You Tube link in the Bleach example links to a video that has been removed. If you know which ED it's referring to, please find a working link.
Removed Flat "What" bullet from One Piece. If you disagree, try to phrase ita little better.
Perhaps the TV show 'the Idol' should be included here, as it's currently the epitome of this trope. While the TV Tropes page hasn't been conceived yet, it's already catching a lot of heat for its uncomfortable (and admittedly cringy) sexual content. I think it needs it.
