I find myself questioning at least a few of the examples. The trope, as far as I can tell, is supposed to be about gruesome deaths that we actually get to see, and yet many of the examples are about deaths that while gruesome, are still happening off-screen or are otherwise handled in a way that doesn't actually show the truly gruesome stuff.

  • The Rain Village ninja's demise at the hands of Gaara in Naruto proves that you are not watching a young kid's anime. Same for the part with the two assassins. Any part where Gaara uses Desert Funeral successfully is like something out of a horror movie.
    • A couple were also toned down in the transfer from manga to anime. Originally Haku was impaled, Gatou had his head cut off, and one of Zaku's arms blew off while the other was sliced open.
    • An early filler episode had a scene where a man disguised as Kabuto links his heart together with Naruto. He then pulls it out of his own chest, while it continues to beat and the arteries are still attached. When the episode aired on Cartoon Network they had to put a warning label at the start of the show and after the commercial break.
      • Lately, we have (coming to the anime soon) one of the Pain bodies RIPS PEOPLES SOULS OUT. And he does this to Shizune.
    • When Sasuke has Orochimaru pinned down with his lightning sword the anime adds a flashback to some of Orochimaru's experiments which includes one Cursed Seal test subject in a cage starting to go One-Winged Angel but then he spontaneously explodes into Ludicrous Gibs.
    • Although he didn't really die, one must mention Sasuke crushing Danzo in the palm of Susanoo's hand. It's basically like Gaara's sand funeral except completely on-panel.

Bold is mine. This disqualifies the entry as an example. Disagreements?

Erh...this is only supposed to apply to works that are supposed to be for kids, right? If something is meant for adults, than I don't think it's even notable that it would contain questionable violence that isn't appropriate for kids.
