How come the non wrestling examples were removed from face while more were added to heel? Give me a good reason or I am just going to put them back.

This page hasn't had any non-wrestling examples since 2012.

The page has had at least three up until January 2014. If I remember correctly, the Xena case was one of the first added when someone decided to expand the example list beyond "Jeff Hardy es mejor!".

Oh, I overlooked these examples. Anyhow, it seems to me like non-wrestling examples would be shoehorning here - might want to offer this up in the Trope Repair Shop.

Keep in mind, those pulls were by JIKTV... he was banned for a great number of things so I don't really know if they're righteous or not.

The comic superhero seems like shoehorning, but the Xena and Dragon Ball Z examples seem like they're definitely inspired by this trope. Maybe a fictional example section would be in order?

I can also think of another one: Mask de Smith from Killer7 was apparently a Face during his wrestling days. A former fan calls him "Babyface" (though you'd think they'd call him tecnico, given he's a Masked Luchador).

The trope repair shop and extra example sections seem like unnecessary changes, as much as the sudden resistance of examples not from wrestling shows. I will remove The Face for now though and replace it with the Killer 7.

  • There was an American comic starring a superhero actually called "The Face", though at first glance, you'd think he was a heel since he was a terror hero.

If anyone knows more about why he should be counted, feel free to re-add the example with more elaboration.

@Larkmarn: Point taken about allowing wrestling-themed examples that aren't from wrestling proper.

From a cursory google search, "The Face" was so named because he wore a scary mask to compensate for the fact he had no powers. So... yeah. Shoehorning.

Do we want to take the fictional examples and put them together in their own section?

No, not really, as already said the page is fine how it was and how it is. This topic was just about a seemingly declared change in policy no one seemed to have discussed or was applying consistently. We seem to have resolved that.
