Pixiv uses the term "itome": "Ito" meaning "thread", "me" meaning "eyes".

"Kitsune no me" simply means "fox eyes" which has more to do with the glean that certain characters give. It just so happens that many itome characters who are indeed hiding secrets will also do a shifty eye look when no one is watching.

Rename genre.

This trope was given a name years ago: "Youngblood's Syndrome." Based off Rob Liefeld's fetish for drawing closed eyes, rediculously tiny blacked out eyes, & irisless eyes.

·Ebisumaru from Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja series.

·Kid Dracula from the same name game spin-off part of the Castlevania series. Although in some occasions for comical relief, when he is shocked, his eyes turn into small tiny dots.
