Is there any example worth noting of such towers falling victim to to a Dungeon Bypass by simply flying/climbing up the outside? I feel like there might have been, but not sure if its actually happened enough that it should get a mention in the trope description.
I'm too lazy for a signature.I can't believe no one added Patricia C. Wrede's "Caught in Crystal". Awesome book.

I think this article could use a better picture; Kefka's tower isn't really very ominous, largely because Kefka's shtick after his acension is that Light Is Not Good. Instead, I propose that we use an image of Sauron's tower from Lord of the Rings.
Edited by SemiCasualObserver I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.
Why no Real Life examples?
I could think of no other Trope Page that may properly include REAL evil-looking towers. I have added Fonthill Abbey but have not removed the No Real tag just to let you know this. I've read somewhere that claims that Orthanc of Lot R was in fact based on this building.
