I propose an addendum to #197: "I will explain to my Legions of Terror that guns are ranged weapons and swords are not. Anyone who attempts to throw a sword at the hero or club him with a gun will be summarily executed."
This addendum will note that clubbing with a gun is acceptable if, AND ONLY IF, said ranged weapon is completely out of ammunition and/or reload magazines, and as such is only good as a bludgeoning tool at that point in time.

And what if the person you're fighting is too close for you to shoot? In real life, soldiers are taught to fight with the butt of their gun at melee range.

Exactly my thoughts. The hero's ship has the explosives, and thus he'll be killed once the ship has gotten far enough away from the fortress/death star that said evil lair is out of the blast range.
The Xanatos Gambit wick is incorrect. 'devious plans' should be potholed to Evil Plan
